Good book. Seeing that Wolverine has an entirely new look now that he's in a more beastly state, Val Semeiks did a great job in doing just that: facial features that doesn't even resemble the old Wolverine, long hair, red eyes ... definately a more beastly nature. Given that this book is a continuation from an Uncanny X-Men issue, it's interesting to see how fast Logan finds himself back with the X-Men, even in a regressed state. Elektra doesn't say much in this issue since she's still trying to stay in the background, but she will definately play a huge role in the future in Wolverine's attempt to regain his humanity.

  • WOLVERINE #101:
"The Helix of an Age Foretold"

The X-Men (Iceman, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Cannonball, and Logan) finds themselves pitted against Ozymandias, an ancient record-keeper to Apocalypse. Cyclops is hit and plummages into a deep ravine. Iceman, Cannonball, and Jean Grey are too occupied with holding off the stone figures that were trying to kill them, so it was up to Logan to chase after Cyclops down the ravine. As Cyclops plummages down, his head hits a protruding bolder, knocking him unconscious. But as his flail body falls, this gives Logan the opportunity to catch up to him and he saves him. Using his claws as brakes against the side of the wall, he saves Cyclops. Cyclops, a bit disoriented, notices how on the scribe that Ozymandias made, had a very detailed image of Professor X on it. This confuses him a bit because Apocalypse had hated Xavier ever since their first encounter. Cyclops faints again, and Logan takes him slowly back towards the surface.

Meanwhile, the three other X-Men are still fighting. Jean does a quick psi-scan on Cyclops, and was relieved to see he was still alive. She sensed, though, someone else in the shadows who was able to shield her psi-probe. As the X-Men fights off the stone figures to save Logan and Cyclops, Elektra silently leaps in, takes out two stone figures, and quickly retreats. Iceman manages to save Logan and Cyclops. Ozymandias admits defeat, and destroys the stone pillar of data that it had accumulated for so many eons. The X-Men, all together now, departs, but the mystery of why the image of Professor X existed on that pillar still remained.
