    Who's in this issue?
  • Lady Deathstrike
  • Magneto
  • Ronald Parvenue (associate to Lady Deathstrike)
  • Puck
  • Vindicator
  • Wolverine

You'd think that just maybe, the crew on Wolverine would give Logan a break, especially after the traumatic experience he went through in Wolverine #75. Nope. Immediately, they bring in Lady Deathstrike into this issue to fight Wolverine. The art by guest penciler Tomm Coker is definately in a class of its own. The only questions I have about this book is: a.) Why is Lady Deathstrike still associated with the billionaire Ronald Parvenue?, and b.) Why did Logan's ID say that he was related to Heather Hudson (aka Vindicator)? The book was a bit slow at first, but finishes off with a nice, tense ending.

  • WOLVERINE #76:
    "Northern Dreams"

Out in the Canadian wilderness during the night, Wolverine is riding his Harley. Deep in thought, he did not realize the fox and the rabbit that was on the road in front of him. Swerving to miss the contact, Logan is thrown off the bike. After a moment, he gets up and wanders around there for a bit. In the meantime, three bikers finds Wolverine and his bike. Mistaking for one of the biker's words (the biker says "scoot" but Wolverine mistakes him for saying "shoot"), Logan unleashes his claw, only to fall onto the ground in pain and faints.

In midtown Manhattan, Ronald Parvenue reads in the newspaper about Logan being up in Canada. He tells Lady Deathstrike about it. She takes off for Canada.

Up in Ottawa Ontario, at Heather Hudson (aka Vindicator)'s home, the three bikers who had found Wolverine on the road drops off Wolverine and his bike there, thinking that Logan was Heather's father.

In his dreams, Logan is hallucinating with images of Mariko Yashida's skeleton coming after him, then Magneto going after him. He wakes up to find himself in Heather's care.

Meanwhile, Lady Deathstrike is getting closer to finding Logan. She encounters the three bikers at a local biker bar, and threatens to kill them if they didn't reveal where they took Logan.

At Vindicator's house, Wolverine has Heather look up the names of the people who were working on the Weapon X project: namely Cornelius, Hines, and Ferro. In the government files, she encounters ferro who was on the treasury records and Hines, who was doing a paper on immunology and about the effect of mettalic salts on the immune system and tissue regeneration. Heather asks why Logan was interested in this, and Logan relies that he believes that without his adamantium, his immune system doesn't work, and thinks that it is linked. Unfortunately, Hines is dead (as seen in a few issues back), which means Logan had hit a dead end.

Meantime, Puck enters and tells them about a big limo that was circling Heather's block. Just then, Lady Deathstrike bursts in to attack Logan.
