Once again, I got fooled thinking the last issue was the last to this series. This book was just a continuation from the last book. Kinda a weird, twisted book in many aspects, especially with this mysterious Linus character who's REALLY weird and reminds me of some sicko that might show up in a horror movie. Generally, an okay book with nice artwork by Silvestri. I'd still like to know, though, as to why they hadn't chosen to end this storyline yet.

  • WOLVERINE #43:
    "Under the Skin"

Back on the medicopter, Nicholas Fury still refuses to tell why Sabretooth kept thinking that Logan was his son, saying that it was all "ultra-classified" information. Logan later on insists to be dropped off in midtown Manhattan, only saying that he's "gotta take a little run through the jungle". He lands in Manhattan.

Back in the Morlock tunnel, Masque and two of his followers were examining the damage that had been done to Grate 23. They concluded that only an explosive could have caused that type of damage and not water. Albert shows up with Elsie Dee's head, and after disarming Masque's two men, he demands to Masque that he be provided with an electronic lab, a machine shop, access to a mainframe computer, and electricity to build a new body for Elsie Dee. Obviously, Masque had no choice but to agree since Albert had his claws to his throat.

Back on the surface, Logan was letting his animal side take over for awhile as he roams in New York's Central Park. He senses someone needing help at a nearby zoo. Upon entering it near the wolverine pen, he discovers some lunatic who called himself Linus. Armed with a kitchen knife, he was torturing defensless animals. Linus flings himself towards Logan with knife drawn, and stabs it through Logan's hand. But Logan was a muntant, so he wasn't hurt. Linus then points a gun at Logan, but he sticks one of his adamantium claws into the chamber, causing the gun to backfire. After pulling the knife back out, he frees the wolverine from the pen, which gives chase after Linus.

Over on the East river, we see that Lady Deathstrike had arrived in search for Logan. Reading the newspaper, wondering why Logan would be in Manhattan, she sees this article about this guy named Ronald Parvenue who had captured a beast which resembled the Hunter in Darkness. She sets off to that office. The remains of the newspaper that she had flung out the window lands on the river below, where Sabretooth was. He recognizes the soft lotus blossom scent that was on the newspaper, and he plots again to find Logan, that "son o'mine".
