Staff members Who's in this issue? Recommended? The cover art's not one of the most catchy artwork around, but the story was actually better than I expected. Good job by the staff in producing another quality book like this one. It's got me hooked as to wanting to find out what this "master form" is. "The Lazarus Project Pt. II: The Stranger" IN THIS ISSUE: Suffering from amnesia, Logan finds himself swept out onto an island. After saving one of the villagers (Jian) from a shark attack, the villagers welcome him and brings him into the village known as Rumika. There, the leaders of the villagers were deciding if he could be trusted. They ended up trusting Logan since they agreed that if he had the intentions of hurting them, he would have done so already. Logan then becomes quite involved with the villagers there. Although his memory had not returned yet, he really didn't care since the villagers and him were getting along very well with each other. But while Logan sleeps, he is still haunted by odd memories that he doesn't recognize, such as why the name of Rumika had such a big significance, a robot, a particular smell, etc. Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the town, a soldier named Target is speaking with Captain Merrick about whether leaving the "master form" in the town was right. Captain Merrick tells them that the people in the village were good people, and that they would do anything to keep the master form safe. Target is still confused though, since they expected the people there to not have the need to fight. We now are taken to a brief scene back in Madripoor where Karma was holding a picture of this "Master Form", and that those who wanted it would stop at nothing to get it. So, she's planning a trip over to Rumika to see to it that it remains safe. Back at the village of Rumika, the villagers are attacked by some soldiers who wanted the Master Form. Karma gets there, but she sees it's too late. Jian is chosen by the leaders of the villagers to protect the Master Form. As the massacre continues, Karma watches in horror as the soldiers were planning to leave no survivors, including children. She makes one of the children running away sleep so that they'd think he was dead. Later, Jian is shot down. Logan, who had been shot in the head, was having many flashbacks. Meanwhile, one of the children begins to cry. Karma tries to stop the shooter by controlling the mind of the shooter to shoot at his own men, but unfortunately, another one kills the children. Just then, Logan wakes up, and does quite a job on the soldiers. Captain Merrick and Target arrives, but the fight had already ended. Captain Merrick complements on how the villagers were still able to save the Master Form. But Logan recognizes his scent, and says that he was the one who caused this massacre. Target had his doubts, but after Karma convinces him about Logan's keen senses, Target kills Captain Merrick. Karma and Target wants to figure out what this secret of the Master Form was about. Logan finally remembers who he is. |
