About Maverick |
Like Wolverine, Maverick was
also a result of the Weapon X project. Maverick had worked with
Wolverine and Sabretooth together while as agents for a CIA elite
team. This gun-totin' mutant has a vast array of arsonal at his
disposal. But with his contraction of the Legacy virus, only one can
wonder whether he'll ever show up again, especially after he
unsuccessfully tried to get Wolverine to kill him in Wolverine
#87. We though discover that he's still alive, barely as he is in
his final stages of the Legacy virus, in his latest Miniseries (Jan
'97). In this one, an Elena Ivanovna locates in his apartment,
suffering from the final stages of the Legacy virus. She wanted
information from him about the whereabouts of Sabretooth, for
Sabretooth had killed her mother (whose husband was Epsilon Red) so
that she could have her revenge on him. But Omega Red comes into the
picture, still out hunting for Maverick and the C-synthesizer. With
her help as well as a mysterious figure named John Wraith, they manage
to bring down Omega Red, and in exchange, he tells her his
whereabouts. |
