Later that day, Ariana sat at her computer while Logan took a shower and got ready to leave. She logged in to a program she took from the lab, before she escaped. She never looked at it, and didn't remember she even had it until after her talk with Logan. She searched through it. It had all the names of the people in the lab. On a whim, she looked at her file. "Ariana ReNas, prepared to be executed on September 8th." She scrolled down the list of names, and one fell on "Logan". She was curious and clicked on the name. A picture began to load. While the picture loaded, the caption beneath said "Logan, prepared for adamantium feed, September 8th." The picture was loaded. Ariana's eyes widened. The picture resembled her houseguest exactly. Logan came out of the bathroom; ready to leave and continue his journey, though guilty he was leaving Ariana where Sabertooth could get her, but him being there provided only a greater risk. He walked into the living room finding Ariana standing about 10 feet away from him, looking directly into his eyes. "I know you." She said, pointing to the computer with the file on screen. "You saved me more than once. You were at the lab. You were the one who freed me from the gas chamber." Logan looked away from her, trying avoiding eye contact, but she walked straight up to him, and turned his head towards her, her hands were soft and gentle to him." They gave you the adamantium feed the day the were to kill me. I am forever in your debt. But, why didn't you tell me?" Logan was thinking more about her being this close to him. He could feel her breath on his face. "Logan?" Logan looked back at Ariana, and said, "People who were friends with Sabertooth are pretty hard to trust. How do I know you haven't just been researchin' my past, sweetheart?" Ariana stepped back. "I don't expect you to trust me, Logan. I know how hard it is for mutants to trust people. I trust everyone I meet, until they give me a reason not to. Everyone deserves a chance. Give me a chance." Logan thought about this. He had no reason to trust anybody. With all the people wanting to kill him, and 2 /3rds of the world against his type, he only needed to trust the X-men, and basically no more than that. But something told him he could trust Ariana, something deep inside him, where he almost never searched. He began thinking he might have "feelings" for her. Ana checked her watch. "Logan, I have to go. I work part time at a diner; have to keep up on the rent. Um, if you wanna leave, ya can, but I have to go." She said. "Yeah, I'd better be on my way." Logan replied. "Ok," Ariana said. "Alright, then, I better get going. You can come with, up to the diner, if ya want." She continued. "Sure." Logan replied.
Ariana and Logan walked down the street, after Ariana put on her blonde wig and blue contacts to hide her bright red hair and bright red eyes. Logan found a shop that "Interested" him, and decided he would go in. Ariana said, "I have to get to work. I guess I'll see ya around. Thank you for everything, Logan. I am forever in your debt. If you ever need anything, look me up." "I will." Logan replied. "Thanks for helpin' me out." With that, Ana walked away. Logan was about to call out to her, but a bus went by, and after it passed, she was gone.
Logan walked down the street, getting kind of hungry. He stopped by the diner Ana worked at, seeing her in the window. He went in and sat at a free table. Ana walked over to him, saying, "Oh, well, look who's here. I figured you be a mile out of town by now." She smiled. "What can I getcha'?" Logan placed his order, and Ana went in to the kitchen to get it.
Ariana walked into the kitchen, finding no one in it. She called out names, but no one answered her. She walked around the island counter, and found the body of the chef, beaten to death, with blood pouring from his mouth and being soaked up by his shirt and apron. Another body, a waitress, was found behind the chef's corpse, her death was just as the other's, but the woman was also stabbed in the back, and the knife still in it. Ariana was to frightened to scream. She felt a presence in the room. Suddenly, she felt a cold hand wrap around her neck, and another over her mouth. She struggled to get free, but whoever was behind her whispered "It's a pity they want you alive, Ana. It would have been a pleasure to kill you." Ariana immediately thought Sabertooth. She brought up her leg, hitting Sabertooth directly between the legs, and he let out a scream of pain, and fell to the floor. Ariana grabbed a knife, the handle covered in tomato sauce from the chef that must have tried to use it. It was slippery, and she dropped it. Sabertooth lunged at her, and she held the counter to prevent him from breaking her back, but the tomato sauce on her hands made her slip off the counter, and she fell, knocking her out.
Logan sat at his seat, and heard a familiar scream of pain. He got up and walked to the kitchen. He opened the door, but no one was there. He looked around, and found the two bodies lying on the floor. A knife was on the ground, covered in tomato sauce, and the counter had a red, smudged handprint on it. Logan sniffed the air. Smelt like Sabertooth.
