A week later -

Ethan had started to adapt to his life as an X-Man. All of the Gen X kids had gone back except Jubilee. Professor X had managed to remove most of the implants and Ethan was starting to get his memory back. So far as he could tell, they hadn't added any thing, just edited it down to the most important parts of fifteen years of his life. Even though he could remember more, he still felt like a teenager. Dr. McCoy said it was probably the hormones. And his dad and him had actually started to bond. He saw his dad walking towards him.

"Hi Dad."

"Hey, Ethan. There is something I gotta tell ya."

"K." His dad sat down next to him on the steps.

"I'm going to be gone for awhile. I need to catch up on my training. I'm getting pretty out of shape."

"Ha. Come on, you could still take anyone in the mansion."

"I'm not sure 'bout that. But I am sure I'm not nearly as good as I use to be. And I don't have near the control." Ethan by now knew the battle which Logan had to keep his humanity. "I need to work some things out."

"When will you be back?"

"I don't know. Sometime within a few months hopefully." < Just when had finally started to understand each other.>

"I understand. I'll miss you, a lot."

"So will I. I'll be back soon, kid." <I just hope I don't screw you up like I did Sabertooth.> Logan got up and started heading for his Jeep.

"And dad?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't go disappearing on me for 45 years again, k?"

"Deal."
