-Ringggg, Ringggg-
"Hello?"
"Hello, is Professor Xavier there?"
"This is he."
"Hello Professor, My name is Ethan and I am a mutant. I have long heard of the X-Men, their doings, and their philosophy. Well getting right down to the point I would like to join your X-Men. I'm sure you get mutants all the time saying they want to join the X-Men, but if you would just let me try out or something I'm sure I could convince you that I would be an asset to the team."
"When can you get here?"
"I can be there by tomorrow evening."
"Well then, tomorrow evening you have your chance to join the X-Men."
"Thank you so much."
"Your welcome, I'll see you tomorrow"
"Bye" -click.- <YES!!!!!>
She was incredibly comfortable. She has been going non-stop for 18 hours. All she wanted to do was sit here in the silence and relax. Then of course the doorbell rang. She knew she should get it, Jean and Scott were with Logan, Storm and Beast were with Gen X, and the others were deeply sucked in to the Danger Room. Somehow she found the strength to get up and open the door. She thought it was probably the guy who was going to meet with Professor X. Boy was she surprised when she opened the door and there was a 15 or so year old, 5 foot 9, short black hair, brown eyed boy looking back at her trying not to stare. He was in a pair of old Levis, old generic shoes, a plain white T-shirt, and a old flannel he was wearing open.
"Hello, may I help you?" she asked. She had one of those bodies that he thought you only saw in magazines and on T.V.
"Ah, um, yeah, I, uh, have an meeting with Xavier."
"So your Ethan?" she said in a surprised tone of voice.
"Yes."
"Well follow me, sugar." He followed her inside walking throughout the mansion toward the back. This had to be the biggest house he'd ever seen. It was huge; must have cost a fortune. His mind was racing and his eyes were busy. Lets' just say between his amazement of the mansion and walking behind Rogue he had plenty to look at.
"He's in there." -knock, knock.-
"Come in."
He opened the door and there before him was a man whose picture he had seen countless times, Charles Xavier. He saw the Professor wave his hand, and heard the door close.
"Strange, I couldn't tell who it was, I felt a very light trace of a new presence, but that's all. Is one of your powers telepathy?"
"No, not that I know of."
"How strange." The Professor had only seen three other non telepaths that could do that.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Professor Xavier. You have a kickin' home," Ethan said as he extended his hand. Charles took it with a firm handshake.
"Thank you. Good to meet you as well Ethan ... what is your last name?"
"Well, umm, I don't exactly have one."
"Ohh, okay. I must say I am a bit startled to find out how young you are. By the way how young are you?"
"I'm 15."
"Well you came here to audition, to see if you will to become an X-Men. First off all, would you open your mind to me? I wouldn't go far. All I want to know is your true feelings on humans and mutants, and what kind person you are." <What! He wants to go in to my head! But ... but ... I ... He is Charles Xavier, famous good guy.>
"I ... I ... guess, as long as you promise you won't do anything else in my mind."
"I promise" Charles closed his eyes. Ethan could sense someone was there, but he couldn't really put his finger on it. Then in about 45 seconds the Professor was back.
"I will train you."
"You will! That's great, but I don't understand, you don't even know what my powers are."
"It does not matter. Attitude is everything. Well not everything. I will train you but depending on your powers, you may not see any action."
"I see ... you need to be the right kind of person to get into the school, but you have to be that and have decent powers to become an X-Man." This struck Ethan as a very good rule, one that he would remember.
"But while we're speaking of powers, what are yours?"
"I can't really explain, why don't I just show you?"
"Okay." Ethan stood up from where he had been sitting and pushed the chair away. He stiffened up and then suddenly a traveling, incredibly bright light went up his body. As it went, his human form was gone, leaving behind in front of Xavier, a 6 foot 5 gargoyle-looking creature. He had long black hair coming down from a face that while it wasn't quite human you could have sworn that it was. He had a massive muscular body that was true black in color. He had huge wings, that probably had a span of 14 or so feet, and a tail. His flannel was completely gone and his white shirt no longer had sleeves and was stretched at the seams, his Levis were torn to the knee, and his shoes were gone leaving behind almost bird talons but flatter and less bonny. He had a tattoo on his huge right bicep: an X, and in front of it, down the side vertically, were the letters W-a-r-r-i-o-r. But the most noticeable things were that at the bottom of those huge arms were hands, with fingers, that had adamantium claws on the ends of them. He also noticed that on the ends of his abnormal feet that there were adamantium claws. Safe to say, Xavier had never seen anything quite like it.
