The plan was to dress up like they were F.O.H. members and attend the next rally. In doing so, they hoped to find something out about Allison. Besides, she might be there.

They sat in Logan's Jeep: Logan and Katherine in the front, Remy and Jesse in the back. None of them said anything. Logan could see by Katherine's tight knuckled grip on the edge of the seat that she was nervous.

They reached the rally in which a huge crowd had gathered. On top of a huge stage stood a bunch of men, all wearing Friends of Humanity hoods, boasting about the mutant plague and how they would rid themselves of the "abominations".

About halfway through the rally Logan felt Katherine stiffen next to him, her eyes wide. On the stage stood a tall, forboding man with thick red hair and ice blue eyes. His smile was curt and menacing.

"Who is he Katie?" Logan whispered.

"He ... he's the father of the man who ... who, the father of Allison's father," she whispered. Jesse put a hand on her shoulder.

"Well, now for our little demonstration. You see folks, my good friend, Doctor Wilhelm has discovered a way to get rid of mutant defects when the child is young, so it won't grow into one." The tall man said with a tight smile, "And here's our first test subject." A woman came on the stage and set, in front of everyone's eyes, a beautiful, little girl, with red gold curles and large violet eyes. She was scared and pale, soft tears trickled down her cheeks.

Katherine gasped. "Allison," she whispered.

Jesse cursed softly and Logan looked at the beautiful child, rage surging inside of him.

"Dat her mon amie?" Remy asked Jesse. He nodded, "Den let's get her and get out of here."

"How?" Jesse said.

"Leave it to me." Katherine growled, not sounding anything like herself.

"Katie wha... "Logan started, but before he could finish, Katherine has started weaving her way through crowd.

"Shit!" Jesse exclaimed.

The man on the stage continued, "So, right here, on this very stage, Dr. Wilhelm will operate, to the view of everyone."

"NO!" Katherine screamed from the center of the crowd, "Get away from my daughter you filthy bastard!" And following that scream came many more, for Katherine had lost control and was lifting everyone in the room, except her daughter, in to the air, flinging them in all directions, her emotions were wild as well and people cried out in fear and righteous anger.

"Mama!" Allison exclaimed.

[ Kat, stop this, you've lost control, you just tossed Logan into a tree. ]

[ Logan? ]

[ Yes, Kat, put us down ]

[ Down ] Katherine let everyone drop at once, rendering everyone unconscious. Katherine fainted.

"Mama!" Allison began to wail.

Logan got out of the tree he was stuck in and walked over to Katherine, scooping her up, then he went to the stage and got the little girl. She was scared, but when she saw her mother she flung herself into his arms, weeping loudly.

Logan carried them to the Jeep. "Stay here, watch your Mommy," he told her, and she nodded. Logan went back, and dragged Remy and Jesse, dumping them in the Jeep. He put Katherine and Allison in the front. Allison looked up at him with big violet eyes. "Who are you?" she whispered.

"Logan." He said, "Now, let's get out o' here before everyone wakes up!" He said, and they sped home.

Katherine awoke with a start. "Jesse?!" she cried softly, as she always did when she awoke alone, confused, disorientated. It was natural, also: she couldn't see or hear, and that instantly meant something was wrong with Jesse.

Logan looked over a Katherine. They were almost back to the mansion. Remy and Jesse were still unconscience in the back seat. Allsion was sitting silently in her mother's lap. Katherine looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Eyes wide and fearful, her lip trembling. "Jesse?!" she said more loudly.

"Mama?" Allison asked softly.

Katherine couldn't hear or see, she continued to look around and around, fearfully, frantically. Logan put a hand on he shoulder.

"Katie?" He asked, her response was to flinch away from him. Damn! He swore. Jesse was unconscious and whatever link had been made between them was broken. Katherine couldn't see or hear.

He took her small hand in his and began to stroke her knuckles with the pad of his thumb. She calmed instantly, "Logan?" She asked softly, her voice sounding strange.

Logan squeezed her hand as if to say yes. She nodded. He then put Allison's hand in hers. She smiled, "My baby! My little Ally Cat." She cried, hugging her.

"Unghh ... anyone get the license plate of that truck?" Jesse groaned from the back seat. Then jerked straight up in his seat, "Katherine?" He looked over to where she was sitting calmly in the front seat. Allison cradled in her lap, her hand intertwined with Logan's.

"She can't hear ya bub." Logan said from the front.

"Oh...duh," [ Katherine? ]

[ Yes Jesse? ]

[ You okay? ]

[ I guess ]

Jesse reconnected the link and Katherine could see again. She smiled down at Allison's sleeping head. Her hand still clutched in Logan's. She looked at their intertwined fingers and smiled, then blushed and let go. Logan didn't do a thing. He didn't look over at her or anything, merely put the hand that she had been holding back on the wheel and continued to drive. Katherine was thankful for that.

"What happened back dere chere?" Remy asked groggily, holding his head.

"I ... I lost control." She said softly, brushing back Allison's hair.

"Don't worry 'bout it chere. It's understandable."

She smiled hesitantly, and looked up as they entered the gates of the mansion. When they reached the front of the house Jean came out along with Storm and Scott.

"Everything okay? What happened?" Scott asked.

"We got de girl back." Remy said, gesturing to where Allison lay cradled, now in Jesse's arms, sleeping softly.

"She's beautiful." Jean said softly.

Katherine smiled and moved to get out of the Jeep, almost collapsing as her knees went out from under her, "Oh!"

Logan moved to catch her and swept her up in his arms, "You okay Katherine?"

She nodded looking up at him, their eyes locked and everyone else ceased to exist.

Jesse glowered at them, eyes narrowing. "Kat, coming?" he called back as he made his way to the house.

She reluctantly tore her eyes away from Logan's and he started towards the house, quickly catching up with Jesse.

"Are you alright Kat?" Jesse asked.

"Yeah, I'm just exhausted. I used too much energy," she said, then sighed and laid her head on Logan's shoulder. In seconds she was asleep.

"What happened?" Jean asked.

"I'll tell ya in a minute Jeanie, just let me put down Kate." Logan said, then he and Jesse went into Jesse and Katherine's guest room and laid Katherine and Allison in the bed together.

Jesse sighed, "Thank God we got her back." He whispered.

Logan smiled, "Yeah, she's a beautiful kid."

Jesse nodded, "Come on."
