About an hour later it was starting to get dark.

"Maybe we should find an inn?" suggested Jean.

"That sounds good, there should be one in about three more miles." said Logan.

"I am still wondering why Scot did not send more X-Men" said Jean.

"Maybe he is not sure that we will come back eh?" said Logan.

"He would have told us." said Jean.

"Shhh." snapped Logan.

((What is it? I don't sense anyone nearby.))

((Ninja are masters of stealth.))

Jean knocked an arrow.

Logan drew his Katana. (Japansese long sword)

Suddenly six black clad wariors jumped directly in front of them, each ninja has armed to the teeth with swords bows and numb-chucks.

The first two lunged at Logan.

Logan leaped into the air to meet his attackers head on. His katana whipped through the air and sliced neatly through the ninjas clothing. The ninja swung his sword high about to strike a massive blow when he stopped dead still and dropped dead. As the ninja rolled onto his back, Logan saw a neatly place arrow in the ninja's neck. He looked up just as the other 4 ninjas attacked. Logan dropped two ninjas with his sword and one with a throwing knife. The other one was pierced through the heart by Jeans arrow.

((Good shot Red)) said Logan.

((Thanks)) said Jean looking rather full of herself.

"That was close, why did they attack us?"

"Do you remember that guard that led us around?"

"Yes"

"I think he is one of the madman's spy's."

"So he must be the person who told the assassins huh?"

"Yes, at least I think so."

"Lets get to that inn, I want a hot bath!" said Logan.

"Race ya?" challenged Jean.

Logan smiled and jumped onto his horse just as Jean took off down the hill.

"I won, I get the bath first!" panted Jean.

"You got a head start but, that's alight." said Logan.

They gave their horses to the rather shocked innkeeper.

((Never seen westerners I guess)) said Logan.

{Do you have any rooms that have two beds?} asked Logan.

{Yes we do} said the innkeeper.

{Good, then will you show us there please?} asked Logan.

{Up the stairs and to the left down two doors} said the innkeeper.

They went to the room.

"Nice place huh?" said Logan.

"Yeah...it even has its own bath!" said Jean.
