Diana knew she'd picked up a tail minutes before as she headed into Stanley Park. She'd spotted the strange man on her tail a few times over the past couple of days, but this was just getting annoying. She couldn't even get back to base with him following her like this. Enough was enough, she was not the Lady Raven for no reason.
Logan watched the frail park her bike in a parking lot near some totem poles, he was also pretty sure she'd spotted him again. She was a good quarry, backtracked and lost him more times than an old raccoon to a dog. Though this time she wouldn't get away: she was heading straight into the woods of Stanley park, and the woods was his home.
Raven walked far enough into the woods to know there was no one who could see her, the man would be at least a minute behind, so she shifted into her other form, beating her wings solidly she gained air and changing her mind, she glided down to a nearby tree to watch the man.
Logan followed her scent, a mixture of feathers, herbal shampoo and wood, with relative ease but stopped as suddenly as the trail. she couldn't have backtracked, he would have caught her. The branches were to high for her to have caught up and gone into them, but she was gone. A dark bird called down at him, almost laughing and flew off towards the west. Logan put one and one together and came up with three. This Diana must be a mutant of some kind, she must have disappeared with some power that mutancy gave her. Well, this certainly made things even more interesting.
Diana had fun with the man named Logan, led him on many wild goose chases, she hadn't felt so alive in so long. Her native blood singing at her trickery, her namesake would have been proud. Transmute had tried to warn her of the danger, Fury had egged her on, saying it was good to teach the mundanes some respect while Chris had just said if she got in trouble to call him and he would see what he could do. Diana was beginning to have her doubts that this man was a normal though, he was just too good, and she could swear she had seen him literally sniffing out her trail more than once.
Currently she was leading him up and down Golden Ears mountain, in and out of the woods she knew so well having grown up in them, appearing, disappearing. He was getting frustrated, she could hear him growl softly. That worried her slightly: if this man was a mutant, he could be dangerous to engage with, if he caught her while this angry she could be in deep trouble. On the other hand, her regeneration had saved her countless times, including healing a bullet that had lodged itself in her brain, the worst that could really happen is a lot of pain.
Logan was losing his patience, this hunt was turning for the worse, the fox was leading him around in circles, each time her trail got within a minute fresh it would suddenly end, leaving him to circle around to find where she had continued from. Perhaps she had a limited teleport? What he couldn't understand was why she was taunting him this way, why not just disappear entirely? What was this girl's game? Perhaps she had warned Crowsfoot and was now stalling while he got a clean get away. He growled softly, when he got his claws on her.
Raven's wings were getting tired, she had been shapeshifting from almost dawn up, the sun had set over the mountains almost an hour ago, and yet the man still didn't give up. She had to admit, he certainly was tenacious. She shifted back to her human shape to let her regeneration kick in and let her get her breath back, to give her back all her energy and get rid of the aches and pains that were slowing her down. That's when he found her.
Logan saw a movement between some trees, even though it was the opposite direction of where the trail led, he trusted his instincts, his hearing said a human had just moved to his right. His instincts told him this game was at an end, his hunting about to get him his prey. He moved as silently as a cougar to where he saw the girl leaning up against a tree.
Raven felt the movement more than she heard it. She had enough time to turn around when she had a growling spitting Wolverine in man's form on top of her, metallic claws at her throat. She tried to kick him off, but he shifted with her movements, she tried to touch him, to get him with her empathy but he just pressed the claws tighter against her throat, she couldn't shift with him on top of her, not like this, she decieded there was only one logical thing to do, she gave in.
Wolverine lept, tackling her, rolling with her through the underbrush, pinning her to the ground he brought out his claws and pressed them against her throat, his blood screamed for him to draw hers, to teach her for making a fool of him for so long, he felt her try to throw him off, but he moved against such as second nature, years of training. When she tried to raise her hand to him, he pressed the claws tighter against her throat, still trying to calm his bloodlust and when she just suddenly relaxed, he waited for the trick.
"Are you going to just sit on top of me breathing down at me, or are you going to finish what you started?" Raven offered, wary of the claws. Sure, she could just take the claws in the throat and hopefully get enough distance to heal before he was on her again, but such an action would probably be suicidal, she couldn't heal in her raven form, and she had no backup. Damnit, she should have just flown off when she started to feel tired, why did she let the game get to her? Why didn't she seek safety when it was her's?
Wolverine growled again. "Frail, you don't know how lucky you are." He retracted the claws slightly. Enough to let her breath, enough to let her talk, but not enough to remove the threat.
"Mmmf. That's debatable, something I'm sure you don't wish to discuss. Since you seem to have a captive audience, you may as well tell me what you want and I may as well do my best to provide that." Raven's mind was moving a mile a minute, she had to find a way out of this.
"I don't think you'd give up so easy. That's okay, I ain't plannin' on lettin' ya go till you tell me what ya know." Wolverine shifted minutely. "Tell me everythin' ya know about Crowsfoot and don't forget to tell me where ta find 'im."
Raven sighed. "That could take some time."
"I got nothin' but time, girl."
