Logan had never felt so confused, not just about her, but about himself. He couldn't let go of the anger inside, and taking it out on her was a mistake. How could he tell her that he was angry at himself? He hated that he couldn't remember, that he couldn't trust her because of it. He'd always been a loner, and having a sister had been too much of a shock.

She was leading him on quite a chase, keeping to the woods, but he'd find her, and bring her back. The sun was just beginning to rise when he found her. She was in her human form, sitting on a rock on the edge of the slope. If she heard him, she didn't give any notice of it. He stood there, really looking at her for the first time. Her hair was the same dark color as his, only longer. They were the same height, but she was more slender. He could see the resemblance in her face. He wanted to believe in her...for all the world, he wanted it to be true.

"I'm not in the mood to fight you again, Wolverine," she said coldly.

"I don't want to fight. I came to bring you back," he told her quietly.

"Really, and what makes you think I want to go back? What's there for me? Nothing. 'Bout sums up my life," she said, her voice sounding tired and defeated.

"Look, I'm sorry...for a lot of things. I wish I remembered," he admitted, walking up to sit beside her.

"Yeah, me too, but you don't... When I knew you, you were strong and fierce. Nothing could stop you...except me. I never had to use force -- you trusted me, and that's all you needed. That made me strong too. We knew each other so well then that we didn't need to speak. Then they took you away and all I felt was pain. Now I've found you and the pain, the loneliness, is worse. I can reach out and touch you, but..."

She looked his eyes and saw the pain he felt. "What have they done to us, Logan? They took away both our lives," she said quietly, looking out across the plain below.

"You found me though," he whispered.

"Yes, but now what? Do I have to gain your trust? Do I have to prove myself, prove that I am your sister? I don't know if I can." She looked down at her hands, her body going limp.

"No, you have to fight -- WE have to fight. You say you've spent your whole life looking for me, and now you're giving up? I don't think so. No sister of mine would give up so easily. Just because I don't remember doesn't mean I don't want you here. Those people back there don't want you to go either.

"Look, I may not be the brother you remember, but I'm still your brother, right? Maybe we both gotta accept that." He smiled a bit. "I know I'm sick and tired of being alone."

"So we fight together eh? Now that sounds like the brother I knew." She looked up at him and smiled. "This ain't gonna be pretty. You and I together...we could do some real damage." She laughed softly.

"That mean you're gonna stay? Or do I have to rough you up a bit more?" He smiled.

"In your dreams, bub -- you'd have to catch me first!" She morphed again, letting out a loud howl that echoed through the trees.

Back at the mansion a worried Cajun gazed out the window. "Jean, you sense anyt'ing? Has he found 'er yet?" Gambit asked the telepath as she walked in.

"Look for yourself," she answered, pointing to the window. Walking out of the trees and towards the mansion were Logan and Gabriel. They walked in together to be met by everyone.

"Everyone, I want you to officially welcome my sister Gabriel. Code name Panther." Logan grinned widely at Gabriel. "Mess with her and she'll slice-and-dice ya...it runs in the family."
